Dragon Quest XI DLC

Downloadable Content (DLC) is available for both the original release of Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age and Definitive Edition.

The DLC available in the western releases is free, or obtained as free pre-order bonuses. The Japanese releases of XI S include the only paid dlc for the game: voice dramas.

The DLC in all the editions of XI must be claimed in-game by selecting 'Misc.' → 'System Settings' → 'Claim Special Rewards'.

  • Trodain Set: Includes the Trodain Bandana and Trodain Togs, based on the hero from Dragon Quest VIII (It changes the appearence of the Luminary). It also includes the “Trodain’s Top Trends” recipe book, which details how to improve the stats of the outfit later in the game. It can be claimed on the western PS4 and PC Versions only, free of charge.
  • Edition of Light Bonus DLC: It includes a Supplicant, a Healer, and 3 seeds of skill. It’s included with the Edition of Light (Limited edition) and Edition of Lost Time (Collector’s edition) of the game.
  • Edition of Lost Time Bonus DLC: It includes a Pep pop and 15 seeds of skill. It’s included with the Edition of Lost Time (Collector’s edition) of the game.
  • General Preorder Bonus DLC: It includes Arriviste’s Vest and 3 seeds of skill. Available to players who pre-ordered the game.
  • Gamestop / EB Games Preorder Bonus DLC: It the Elevating Vest and 3 seeds of skill. Available to players who pre-ordered the game at Gamestop or EB Games.
  • Kaiser Axe: A free Kaiser Axe is added to the inventory. Available for free to all PlayStation Plus subscribers.

  • Champion’s Pack: It includes the Vests of Success Set (which includes Arriviste’s Vest and the Elevating Vest), Wolf Wear (an outfit that changes the appearence of Erik), the Baby Boar Set (an outfit that changes the appearance of Veronica), the Trodain Set (an outfit that changes the appearance of the Luminary to look like the Hero of DQVIII), and the Happy Adventurer Set (includes 5 pep pops and 5 seeds of skill). Available for free on the Nintendo Switch eshop.
  • Bonus Content Pack: Includes the Trodain Set, the Baby Boar Set, and the Happy Adventure Set -which includes 5 Pep pops and 5 seeds of skill-. This pack is included in the Xbox, Gamepass, Windows and PS4 release of XI S.
  • Voice Drama DLC: Available only in the Japanese market, this DLC pack includes 10 narrated adventures that serve to give backstory to certain characters like Sylvando or Jasper, or to just entertain the player. The DLC is about 4 hours long, combining the length of all 10 stories. It has a cost of 1500 yen, and is available on all platforms. It is also included in the Gorgeous Edition (Limited Edition) and the Super Gorgeous Edition (Collector's Edition) of the game.

In the S version, claiming the sets that contain the Trodain Outfit unlocks the option to change the overworld theme to the one from the Dragon Quest VIII Soundtrack ("Strange World").

TriviaEdit

  • All the DLC content in the original release can be obtained by playing the game normally.
  • Erik’s Wolf Wear outfit is exclusive to the Switch Version of the game, possibly due to licensing issues. The outfit was designed by Hiro Mashima for his Erik manga oneshot.
  • The "Super Gorgeous Edition" -the collector's edition of '"XI S exclusive to Japan- includes a printed version of the script from the Voice Drama DLC.
