Eagle Grip

Eagle Grip is a recurring attack in the Dragon Quest series. It is an enemy-only attack in various games where the monster suddenly and violently grabs a character with their claws or talons, dealing 125% damage to a single character.

Eagle Grip makes its first appearance and can be used by Drag-goofs, Great dragons, and Black dragons.

Dragon Quest VI: Realms of RevelationEdit

Eagle Grip can be used by Corpsickles, Deadly dodos, Gryphons, and Jamirus.

Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten PastEdit

Eagle Grip can be used by Corpse corporals, Weighverns, Wide-load weighverns, and Warlord weighverns.

Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed KingEdit

Eagle Grip can be used by various monsters, including Garudas, Hades' Condors, Dark condors, Gryphons, Dark gryphons, Empyrea, and Gemon. When used, the in-game text states that the monster "grabs hold of [character]!".

Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry SkiesEdit

In this game, Eagle Grip can only be used by Orgodemir as a Legacy Boss and he can use it at any level.

Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive AgeEdit

Eagle Grip can be used once again by Elysium birds, Garudas, and Hades' Condors.

Dragon Quest TactEdit

Eagle Grip is known naturally by Bloody hand, Drag-goof, and Gryphon at level 1 and can be learned by Muddy hand at Level 16. It costs 12 MP to use, inflicts minor martial damage to a single enemy, and can occasionally stun them. Eagle Grip can also be taught to any unit by using an ability scroll, which is received as a reward for completing the seventh stage of Dancing flame's Battle Road.

Final Fantasy Brave ExviusEdit

Known as Gripping Grab in this game, it is a skill that can be learned by Great dragon at 4★ rarity or higher at level 14. It deals 250% potency physical damage to an enemy and has a 30% chance to inflict stop for 2 turns.
