Appearances

Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai

Earth Slash is the first of the fundamental techniques of the Avan-style sword school, capable of splitting hard objects in a single strike.

After mastering Earth Slash, Wave Slash and Sky Slash, they can be combined into the school's ultimate technique Avan Strash.

Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age

The Luminary learns Earthsplitter when speaking to the elder of Havens Above in the game's third act. It targets one group of foes and deals up to 210~250 damage for 16 MP. If the player has completed quest #60 then the MP cost will be doubled, the base damage raised to 200~240, and the upper limit to 400~440. The Luminary must have the Sword of Light or one of its upgrades equipped to perform the technique.

Dragon Quest Tact

Earth Slash is known naturally by Dai and Hyunckel at level 1 and costs 30 MP to use, deals 195% physical damage to a single enemy, and can greatly reduce their Defence for 3 turns. Dai's Earth Slash's potency can be increased another 20% through Talent Blossoming.
