They have 8 tentacles, 4 fleshy spikes on their heads, and their trunk and undersides are orange. In VII, the elepus has purple glowing eyes instead of its normal yellow. It attacks using both its long tentacles and exhaling fiery breath and is also known as something of a dancer, as well.
In the Jump Comics Selection Guide Book for the Famicom version of IV, there is an illustration of an Elepus performing a dance while holding a fan in one of its many tentacles.
