Flamesplitter is a sword skill that first appeared in Dragon Quest XI. It is the Fire-elemental equivalent to Gigaslash and incinerates one group of foes with a single swing.

Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age
Flamesplitter can be learned by the Luminary in the game's third act traveling to the temple of dawn in the Havens Above, and speaking to the elder. The skill deals Up to 210~250 fire damage to one group of enemies for 16 MP, but if the player completes quest #60 then the base damage will be raised to 200~240 and the limit to 400~440. This will also increase the MP cost to 32, but by the third act the Luminary will have several means to manage his mana even in a casual playthrough. The skill requires that the Luminary be equipped with the Sword of Light or one of its upgrades to use.
