In Dragon Quest IX, the Gigaslash ability is obtained by allocating 88 skill points to Sword Skill, and can only be used by a character who currently has a sword-class weapon equipped. Its damage output is considerable (numbers in excess of 200/enemy can reasonably be expected), but the MP cost makes it prohibitively expensive for most of the classes that can apply points to Sword Skill.
