Gobstopper is a recurring ability in the Dragon Quest Monsters spin-off games. When used, it prevents enemies from using Breath-based attacks.
Appearances
Dragon Quest Monsters
Gpbstopper (known as MouthShut in this game) shuts one foe's mouth shut for 4~6 turns, and costs 6 MP to use. It requires the monster to be at least level 17 with 120 HP, 100 strength, and 140 agility to learn. The Platypunk, Mottle king slime, Ghost, and Toadstool naturally learn the skill.
Dragon Quest Monsters 2
The requirement to learn MouthShut are unchanged. It is naturally learned by the ArrowDog, Pyuro and RayGigas, among others.
Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker
Gobstopper features the same aspects as the GBC games, and is learned via the Anti-dragon, Seal, and Mime skillsets. A counter-ability, gobstopper-guard, is a passive skill that raises a monster's resistance to the ability by 25%.
Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 2
Gobstopper functions exactly as before, and is learned via the Seal, Mime, and Orochi skillsets.
Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 3
