The Gold Golem (originally Gold Man) is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series. Introduced in the original game, it is a Golem made of bullion and, as such, awards a large amount of gold when defeated.
For the pile of living ingots, see : Gold golem (Dragon Quest III)

Characteristics
The Gold Golem is summed up by its name: it is a Golem made out of gold bricks.

When compared to the original Golem and its other palette swaps, the Gold Golem is usually the weakest of the bunch. It can still be a potentially dangerous monster, however, though most players would desire an encounter for the hefty amount of gold it drops.

The player is likely to encounter Gold Golems before fighting the normal one that acts as a boss. They have high HP and give a lot of gold, the highest amount in the game awarded by enemies, but are prone to fleeing.
