The player is likely to encounter gold golems before fighting the normal one that acts as a boss. They have high HP and give a lot of gold, the highest amount in the game awarded by enemies, but are prone to fleeing.

They can be found on the Isle of Neos, in the centre of the world map. They mostly appear on the southern part of the island and only during the day. They are a high source of gold and thus the Isle of Neos is a good place for gold grinding. there is a special version, The Bricker, hiding behind a rock on the island who will respawn every time you come on the island. His special reward, though, will only be offered the first time you beat him, being a gold monster coin worth approx 2000 gold in shops

The gold golem (originally Gold Man) is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series. Introduced in the original game, it is a golem made of bullion and, as such, awards a large amount of gold when defeated.

Characteristics

The gold golem is summed up by its name: it is a golem made out of gold bricks.

When compared to the original golem and its other palette swaps, the gold golem is usually the weakest of the bunch. It can still be a potentially dangerous monster, however, though most players would desire an encounter for the hefty amount of gold it drops.
