The Gold nuglet is a recurring item in the Dragon Quest series. It is a fragment of gold smaller than a gold bar, but can still fetch a high amount of gold coins by selling it. In some games, it is also used for alchemy and crafting items.

Appearances[edit]

Dragon Quest X[edit]

Gold nuglets are used as an ingredient in furniture crafting or for adding Style to pieces of equipment through the use of alchemy. It can be sold for 300 gold. Gold nuglets can be picked up from sparkly spots or dropped by various monsters, including Gem jamborees, Mecha-mynahs, Mischievous moles, Sham hatwitches, and Waspions.

Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age[edit]

Gold nuglets can be purchased from the shop at the Trial Isle for 2,400 gold each during the third act and can be sold for 600 gold. They can be received from sparkly spots at the Champs Sauvage - Whale Way Station, the Battleground, the Hoarder's Keep, and the Cruel Crypt. 24-carrot bunicorns will always drop gold nuglets, while they have a 116 chance of being dropped by Gyldenbritches and Mechan-o'-wyrms, a 132 chance by Gold-plated puppets and Orc chieftains, and a 1128 chance by Gold drohls.

The gold nuglet is used in the following recipes for the Fun-Size Forge:

Dragon Quest Heroes: The World Tree's Woe and the Blight Below[edit]

Gold nuglets can be dropped by Gold golems, as well as Imp and Restless armour-type Mawkeepers. They can be safely sold for 300 gold coins each.

Dragon Quest Heroes II: Twin Kings and the Prophecy's End[edit]

Gold nuglets can once again be dropped by Imp-type Mawkeepers, as well as by Metal slimes by entering a level 1 Quicksilver Colony. They can be sold for 300 gold coins each.
