For the monster by the name of "GateGuard" in the old Game Boy Color translations of Dragon Quest Monsters and Dragon Quest Monsters 2, see Grim keeper.

Great keepers are bonus dungeon monsters that have appeared in several Dragon Quest remakes, before becoming regular enemies with the eleventh game. They are living statues made out of solid gold, but unlike the Gold golems they are not hindered by the frailty of the metal.
