Eventually, his island is visited by the {{Hero 3}}, to whom he informs an interest in the [[Mod Rod]]. The {{Hero 3}} exchanges the Staff and receives the bone in turn, with the hermit having a different appearance and slightly altered dialogue with each subsequent visit.
