The son of an innkeeper at the [[Last Chance Saloon]], Hank lost faith in his friends when they seemingly betrayed him while on a quest, and as a result distrusts all humanity. However, after the party shows him the [[symbol of faith]] they found in the [[Cave of Betrayal]], he comes to his senses and is able to come to terms with the past.
In his original appearance, Hank Hoffman Jr. is simply dressed in a white-cuffed purple shirt with purple pants and yellow shoes. A tied white cloth is draped over his shoulders and he wears a striped red and white fez.


He then joins the group, bring the wagon with him. Eventually, the party reaches [[Mintos]] and helps [[Alena]] & [[Borya]] to retrieve the [[Feverfew root]] to cure an ill [[Kiryl]].  Upon leaving, Hank decides to learn his father's trade from [[Hilton]] and leaves the party, giving them his [[wagon]] and his horse, Mary Lou, in thanks.
His redesign in subsequent remakes depicts him wearing a yellow-rimmed, white-sleeved purple tunic with a blue sash tied around his midsection. Hank Hoffman, Jr. is a character in the Dragon Quest series that appears as a temporary party member in Dragon Quest IV: Chapters of the Chosen. An enterprising young man, he travels with the Chosen to learn the ways of the world.

Appearance and personality

In his original appearance, Hank Hoffman Jr. is simply dressed in a white-cuffed purple shirt with purple pants and yellow shoes. A tied white cloth is draped over his shoulders and he wears a striped red and white fez.

His redesign in subsequent remakes depicts him wearing a yellow-rimmed, white-sleeved purple tunic with a blue sash tied around his midsection. He dons baggy white breeches that are tucked into black boots. A thin rope is slinged over his right shoulder which holds up a green travellers' bag at his left hip. A tied yellow cloth is draped over his shoulders, and he wears a striped purple and white skullcap. He has unkempt blonde hair and brown eyes.
