The Hell Hornet (Mad Hornet) is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series. Introduced in Dragon Quest VI, it is a monstrous hornet.

Characteristics

Hell Hornets appear as giant wasp/hornet-like creatures with large, stinger-bearing abdomens, a pair of scythe-like arms, and eight wings. They have green eyes with tiny pupils and are primarily burgundy and yellow in color.

Speedy monsters, Hell Hornets often appear in groups and make deadly use of their stingers to paralyze victims in combat. While they aren't typically durable, they can still inflict a good deal of injury before being disposed of.
