Hiroyuki Takahashi (高橋 宏之 born 1957), an assistant producer in Famicom Dragon Quest IV. He is later famous for role-playing game Shining Force and Golden Sun series, along with Mario Golf and Tennis games.

Career

He is a former employee of Enix in charge of real estate business, and worked on Dragon Quest IV (1990) as an assistant producer.

At the same year, he and Kan Naitō, two former Dragon Quest staff, left Enix and found Climax Entertainment which developed dungeon crawler Shining in the Darkness (1991). Later, he created Sonic! (later Camelot) and develoeped strategy role-playing game trilogy Shining Force for Sega. Camelot was affiliated with Nintendo in the 21st century, and developed role-playing game series Golden Sun (2001–2010), along with a dozen of Mario sport games.

There are many traces of Dragon Quest in Takahashi's RPGs: featuring silent protagonists; saving and exorcising in churchs; lost half of the gold after annihilated.
