Horse manure is a recurring item in the Dragon Quest series, first appearing in Dragon Quest IV. It has no practical use in most games, but in later games, it can be used as an ingredient for alchemy.

The horse manure has no known use, other than to be sold for 1 gold coin. Torneko will be disgusted if he appraises it.

Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past

There are a total of 12 pieces of horse manure that can be found in pots and barrels throughout the game. It can be dropped by Nutters, Batboons, and Mudrakers. Horse manure can also be won as a reward from the Lucky Panel at the Casino. It can be sold for 1 gold coin each.

Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies

Horse manure can be collected from the Iluugazar Plains near Batsureg, as well as being found in various pots and barrels throughout the world. It can be dropped by White trigertaurs, Sick trigertaurs, Godsteeds, and Tantamounts. The manure can be used to complete Quest #013: All Fired Up and seven pieces are required to complete Quest #052: Tall Order Cook.

Horse manure is only used in a single alchemy recipe:

Dragon Quest X

Horse manure, along with cowpat, can be used as a fertilizer for growing crops. It can be picked up from sparkly spots or dropped by Gamigins and Night riders.

Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age

The horse manure once again returns to being an item with no practical usage. It can be found in the Heliodor Sewers, Downtown Heliodor, and Gallopolis, as well as being commonly dropped by Equinoxes, Godsteeds, and Tantamounts.

Dragon Quest Heroes: The World Tree's Woe and the Blight Below

Horse manure can be dropped by Drackies, found in barrels and treasure chests on the Stonecloud, or exchanged for one Mini medal. It can be used in the quick recipe for Gold chain in the Alchemy Pot.

Dragon Quest Heroes II: Twin Kings and the Prophecy's End

Horse manure is used as an ingredient to improve various accessories. It can be dropped by Drackies, Bodkin fletchers, and Dark skeletons.
