The iron claw, also known as the iron claws, is a recurring weapon in the Dragon Quest franchise. It is a mid-level weapon and is often one of the first weapons that martial artists and bare-handed fighters can use.

Appearances

Dragon Quest III

The iron claw has an attack bonus of +25. It can only be equipped by Martial Artists and can be purchased at Kazave for 870 gold.

Dragon Quest IV

The iron claw has an attack bonus of +38. It can only be wielded by Alena and Psaro. It can be bought for 1,500 gold in Endor and sold for 1,125 gold.

Dragon Quest V

The iron claw has an attack bonus of +30. It can only be wielded by Debora, Saber, and Jailcat. It can be bought for 550 gold.

Dragon Quest VI

The iron claw can be bought for 700 gold in Amor, Port Haven, Wellshire, Somnia, and Scrimsley and sold for 525 gold. it has an attack bonus of +21 and a style bonus of +15. Carver, Amos, and Goowain can equip it. Silencing rams, Lesser demons, Jumping jackals and Grrrgoyles can drop them.

Dragon Quest VII

The iron claw has an attack bonus of +21 and a style bonus of +15. It can only be equipped by Ruff. It can be bought for 920 gold at Pilgrim's Perdition and sold for 460 gold. Iron claws can also be won as prizes from the Lucky Panel at the Casino.

Dragon Quest VIII

The iron claw has an attack bonus of +55. It can only be equipped by Morrie and he joins the party with it equipped. It only appears in the 3DS version of the game. The iron claw can be upgraded into the fire claw in the Alchemy Pot by combining it with a flametang boomerang.

Dragon Quest IX

The iron claw can be bought for 620 gold in Coffinwell and Stornway and sold for 310 gold. It has an attack bonus of +17 and a one star rarity. Bewarewolves will drop them on rare occassions.

Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker

Iron claws can be bought for 1,150 gold on Domus Isle and Celeste Isle and can be sold for 575 gold. They have an attack bonus of +19. Its in game description is "Tough Iron claws."
