Iron scorpion

The Iron scorpion is a recurring monster in the series, first seen in the original game. It is a stronger variant of the Scorpion with a protective metal carapace.

For the armour-wearing scorpion first seen in Dragon Quest IV, see Metal scorpion.

CharacteristicsEdit

Iron scorpions are a metal-coated menace that boast superior defences to their organic bug brethren. The soft undersides of their bodies, which can only been seen on their faces, is dark pink. The arachnids are able to shrug off attacks from simple weapons, requiring adventurers to improve their equipment or resort to taking them out with magic. The iron scorpion returned to the series in VIII after many years along with the rest of its scorpion kin.

Dragon Quest XEdit

Iron scorpions began appearing in Version 5.1 of the game, this time being much stronger than either of their previous appearances in the main series. They can act twice per turn, are able to perform spinning attacks, and can cast Kabuff to fortify their already considerable defences once again.
