Kazing is a recurring spell in the Dragon Quest series.

Unlike Zing, it always succeeds at resurrecting a dead party member and is much more reliable in times of trouble. The amount of HP restored to the fallen character varies from game to game.

Dragon Quest II: Luminaries of the Legendary LineEdit

First introduced as Revive, Kazing revives a dead party member, but only gives them 1 HP.

It's learned by the Prince of Cannock at Level 25, but also learned by The Princess of Moonbrooke at Level 22 in the remakes.

Wrecktor can also use this spell to revive its allies.

Dragon Quest III: The Seeds of SalvationEdit

Revive is learned by both Priests & Sages at Level 38.

Hocus-poker and Abracadabrer can use this spell to revive their allies.

Dragon Quest IV: Chapters of the ChosenEdit

Kazing is learned by Kiryl at level 33, and by the 9th Chosen One at level 38.

Abullddons can use this spell to revive their allies.

Dragon Quest VI: Realms of RevelationEdit

Kazing is learned by Curie at level 17, Kingsley at level 20, and by Lizzie at level 25. Other characters can learn it by advancing to rank 6 of the Sage vocation.

The enemies Water wraith, Hirsute hexer, Loss leader, Demon overlord, Blackmar, and Mortamor's left hand can use this spell to revive their allies.

Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten PastEdit

Kazing is learned at rank 6 of the Sage vocation, rank 6 of the Champion vocation, rank 3 of the Druid vocation (3DS only), rank 3 (PSX) or 4 (3DS) of the Hero vocation, as well as the Black bishop (rank 2) and Platinum king jewel (rank 4) monster vocations.

It can be cast by the enemies Kernel of truth, Mossferatu, Major disaster, Vis mager, and Hirsute hexer.

Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed KingEdit

Kazing is learned by Angelo at level 34. By investing 100 points into her Staff skill, Jessica Albert can also learn this spell. It costs 15 MP to cast and will fully restore the dead party member's HP.

  • In the 3DS version, Morrie is able to learn the spell by investing 88 skill points into his Passion skill.

It can be cast by the enemies Fallen priest, Jab, Wight priest, Phoenix, Tortured Soul in Memoriam, and Dhoulmagus in Memoriam.

Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry SkiesEdit

Kazing is only available to Sages at level 45. Once again, it costs 15 MP to cast.

Dragon Quest XEdit

Kazing is only learnable by Sages at level 65. It costs 15 MP to cast.

Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive AgeEdit

Kazing is learned by Serena at level 45, Rab at level 55, by Hendrik for 20 points in his Fraternity skill tree and by the Luminary at level 62. It costs 24 MP to cast.

Dragon Quest MonstersEdit

Called Revive in this game, it is an upgraded form of Vivify. Vivify grows into Revive when the monster reaches level 27 with 174 MP and 152 Intelligence.

Kazing costs 80 MP but will always revive the target, restoring 10% of the maximum HP at a minimum before reaching 50% at 1,999 Wisdom. It is learned through the Healer, Mystic, Strong Speller, and Supreme Healer talents.
