Kitty litter is a recurring item in the Dragon Quest series. It is a type of sand liked by felines that is used as a crafting ingredient, particularly for making cat-themed pieces of equipment.

Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies[edit]

Kitty litter can be collected from the Djust Desert or dropped by Clawcerers, Parched peckerels, Power hammers, and Purrestidigitators. One bag can also be found in a treasure chest at the Heights of Loneliness. It can be sold for 19 gold or can be used in the following alchemy recipes:

Dragon Quest X[edit]

Kitty litter is used as an ingredient for crafting weapons and pieces of armor. It can be purchased from a material store for 210 gold, picked up from sparkly spots, or dropped by Terror tabbies and Zumeanies.

Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age[edit]

Kitty litter can be dropped by Weartigers, Cheater cheetahs, and Side winders. One bag can be found in the Sultan's Palace in Gallopolis and another can be received as a reward for completing Quest #03: Amelia's in a Pickle! Kitty litter can be sold for 19 gold or can be used in two recipes for the Fun-Size Forge:

Dragon Quest Heroes: The World Tree's Woe and the Blight Below[edit]

Kitty litter can be dropped by Great sabrecats, Hawk men, Teeny sanguinis, can be exchanged for three Mini medals from King Flaminio on the Stonecloud, or received as a reward for defeating a Veteran Marquis de Léon with silver clear time. It can be sold for 7 gold coins or used in the quick recipes for the Banishing bell and Beckoning bell in the Alchemy Pot.

Dragon Quest Heroes II: Twin Kings and the Prophecy's End[edit]

Kitty litter is used as an ingredient to improve various accessories or sold for 10 gold coins. It can be dropped by Candy cats, Terror tabbies, and Winged sabrecats.
