Kol is a village in northeastern Alefgard. It appears in Dragon Quest and Dragon Quest III. It did not appear in Dragon Quest II like many other locations in Alefgard.

Synopsis

Dragon Quest

Kol is typically the 3rd town the hero visits. It does not contain any essential items for completing the game. The Fairy Flute is hidden 4 steps south of the fountain and is useful for defeating the Golem outside Mercado.

Dragon Quest II

As is the case with most of the towns/villages in Alefgard, Kol is not accessible in Dragon Quest II. Its location on the world map is covered with forest.

Dragon Quest III

Kol contains the item shop which sells the Sword of kings, which is the hero's strongest weapon in the original Dragon Quest III (but not in remakes). The sword is for sale after selling Orichalcum to the Zipangu shopkeeper and re-entering the village.

Puff-Puff

In the SNES and GBC versions of Dragon Quest, the hero can receive a puff-puff near the bath for 20 gold. All references to puff-puff were removed from the original NES version as they were seen as too risque.

Weapon/Armor shop

Item shop

The item shop in the NES version is referred to as a tools shop. In Dragon Quest III this shop is located up a set of stairs and is run by the man from Zipangu.

Items

Inn
