The Laundry Pole is the most basic staff weapon available in Dragon Quest IX.
You can buy them in Stornway Weapons Store for 40G, and they give a +5 attack boost. You can also obtain a Laundy Pole by creating a Martial Artist in Stornway through Patty's Party Planning system, and the Martial Artist will be equipped with the Laundry Pole automatically.
They can be equipped by priests and martial artists.
Also, combining a Laundry Pole and a Shortbow in the Krak Pot will create a Longbow.
