The Lesser demon (formerly Vulgarian) is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series. Introduced in Dragon Quest VI, it is a red, winged, humanoid demon that often moves on all fours.
Characteristics
Lesser demons have the appearance of gangly, red humanoids and they usually walks on all four limbs, despite having a pair of wings on its back. Their arms have been depicted as having both four and five fingers, and their feet have two toes. Lesser demons also wear a large amount of jewelry, having multiple gold bracelets on their wrists and ankles, gold earrings, and a necklace with multicolored beads. They have a long pointed tail, large pointed ears, a thick brow with two curved horns, and their mouths appear to be perpetually wide open, displaying a set of sharp fangs and a green tongue.

The Hellstalker (formerly Horror walker and EvlVulgar) is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series.
Characteristics
A garish bright purple offsets the gnashing and gnawing teeth of this frightening fiend. They summon lashings of lethal thunder with which to strike and threaten the whole party. These demons also unleash a dodgy dance that ups their evasion and allows them to dive away from damage

Characteristics
Devil-like demons that bring disaster and live in only the dingiest temples, crawling on all fours and gnashing at all their prey with pointed grinning teeth. Their golden gauntlets off set the black hue of their stoney skin. They breath a foul haze that destroys and neutralises all magic effects across the battlefield and carry a magical stone that they can hold high in battle to heal all of their monstrous allies in one go.
Etymology
A vulgarian is a term for an unrefined or boorish person, who makes an ostentatious display of wealth. This fits with the description of a lesser demon, which wear a large amount of gaudy jewelry on their body.
