Dragon Quest II HD-2D Remake[edit]
The Lighthouse has lost one floor, making it a seven-storey tower. The soldier keeping watch over Rendarak is now on the seventh floor and his dialogue has been updated to match the changes made to the frozen hellscape. The old man has been placed at the entrance to the tower and will prevent players who have not found the faded blade from entering. Once the player arrives with the rusty legend in tow, he will introduce himself as the "guardian of the sigil", with his textbox updating to match his title. He tells the Scions that he will ascend ahead of the group while they prove their worthiness in the Lighthouse's trials; each time he is encountered on the upper floors he incessantly probes the group with questions regarding the whereabouts of the four other sigils, the artefacts of the faeries, and other valuable information. The old man presses his luck when he lets slip what he knows of Rubiss, causing the Prince of Cannock to become suspicious of him. Once they reach the seal of the sun sigil on the seventh floor, the old man reveals himself to be the Nekomancer and attacks the children.
Once the facetious feline is slain, the Scions of Erdrick lay claim to the sun sigil and are able to recover MP while defending in battle.
