The Mandrake Marauder is a monster that appears in Dragon Quest V and Dragon Quest IX. In Japanese, what we call the "Mandrake Marauder" in English have two seperate names in V and IX, so the name "Mandrake Marauder" could therefore be said to describe two entirely different monsters.
The one in V, known in Japan as りゅうせんし ryū-senshi, also appears in Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 3 and Dragon Quest Heroes II. It possesses a deep red hue, and wears golden armor. It is stronger than the Mandrake major, but weaker than the Mandrake marshal.
