The Massacre Sword is a recurring weapon in the Dragon Quest franchise. Despite being very powerful and ability to strike every monster in all but one of it's appearances, it is a cursed item.

Appearances

Dragon Quest IV

The massacre sword has an attack bonus of +120, and casts Kasap when used as a tool in battle. It can be equipped by Ragnar and Taloon, at the cost of reducing their defence to 0. Psaro can equip it without becoming cursed, and the sword becomes one of his best options prior to obtaining the Pandemonic sword.

It can be found in Porthtrunnel's Inn behind an Ultimate Key door.

Dragon Quest V

The massacre sword has an attack bonus of +120. It can be found in Estark's Labyrinth.

The sword has been upgraded to hit all enemies now, and carries this trait in all subsequent games.

Dragon Quest VI

The massacre sword has an attack bonus of +95 and style bonus of +15. It can be purchased in Greedmore Valley for 29,000 gold coins and sold for 21,750.

They are also dropped by Tormentaur at a rate of 1/256.

Dragon Quest VII

The massacre sword has an attack bonus of +95 and an appearance bonus of +15. It can only be used by Kiefer and Aishe.
