The Metal King Shield is a recurring shield in the Dragon Quest series which first appeared in Dragon Quest V. As one could guess by the name, it is connected to metal king slimes and features one directly in its center.

The metal king shield has a defence bonus of +70, and reduces the accuracy of snooze, fuddle, dazzle, and instant death instead of providing protection against magic or breath attacks. It can be acquired in exchange for 43 mini medals (50 in the remakes) at the Medal King's Palace., and can be equipped by the Hero, his son, Sancho, Tuppence, and several monster recruits.
Dragon Quest VI: Realms of Revelation
