Metal king shield
The Metal King Shield is a recurring shield in the Dragon Quest series. As one could guess by the name, it is connected to metal king slimes and features one directly in its center.

Dragon Quest V
The Metal King Shield in Dragon Quest V has a defence bonus of +70, and reduces damage against fire and ice attacks.
Dragon Quest VI
The Metal King Shield in Dragon Quest VI has +70 defense and +35 style. It also reduces Fire, Ice, Frizz, Sizz, and Bang damage by 30. The Hero, Carver, Milly, Nevan, Terry, Amos and all slime allies can equip it. It is obtained as a reward for beating the Expert class in the Arena in Slimopolis. Since this class can be challenged only twice, it is possible to obtain only two Metal King Shields.
Dragon Quest VII
The Metal King Shield in Dragon Quest VII has +70 defense. It also reduces damage from Fire/Ice and element spells/skills by 30.
Dragon Quest VIII
The Metal King Shield has a defence bonus of +65 and reduces fire and ice based damage by 30 points. All characters can equip this shield.
