Nodoph is the creature at the top of the Tower Of Nod in Dragon Quest IX. It is a palette swap of Nemean, a grotto boss.
Story
Long ago, when the Gittish Empire attacked Wormwood Creek and wounded Serena, she was left for dead until Nodoph found her and brought her back to the tower of Nod. She went in search of Corvus and died in the Oubliette. This made Nopdoph shed a single tear, known as Nod's tear.
There are a series of quests featuring the player trying to get to Nodoph. Eventually, he wakes from a long slumber and battles. Afterwards, he comes to his senses and stays atop the tower of Nod with his slime friend.
