Ping is a recurring spell in the Dragon Quest series, first introduced in Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker. It doubles the Wisdom of a single party member.

Appearances

Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker

Ping costs 3 MP to cast and can be learned from:

Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 2

Ping can no longer be learned from Mage Aid. It can now be learned from:

Dragon Quest Monsters: Terry's Wonderland 3D

Dragon Quest Monsters 2: Iru and Luca's Marvelous Mysterious Key

Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 3

Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince

Ping raises one monster's wisdom by 80% and lasts for 4~7 turns. It overrides the natural stat caps of monsters, allowing the fourth-tier attack spells to reach their maximum damage that necessitates 3,999 wisdom. Ping is learned through the Antimagician, Empath, Fortifier, Sizz Afficionado, and Willing Helper talents.

Dragon Quest Treasures

The effects of the spell can be replicated by popping an ally with a ping pellet.

Dragon Quest Tact

Ping appears as an enemy-only spell that can be used by certain monsters and bosses. It has a range of up to two squares away from the caster in any direction, can be self-cast, and greatly increases the WIS of a single target. Silvapithecus and Slimecicle also possess the awakening perk Rare Ping, which has a chance to greatly increase their WIS for 4 turns at the start of each turn.
