Effect In its appearances up to VIII, it provided protection against sleep and paralysis status.

The robe of serenity is a recurring robe in the Dragon Quest series. It is a special robe that provides protection to the wearer in battle if they are asleep or paralyzed in its first three appearances in the series (IV, V, and VIII). In IX, it only provides protection against sleep atacks, whereas in XI, it offers no protection against either status and instead heals HP every turn and provides bonuses to magical might and mending.
