Dragon Quest III
The Rune staff appears only the remake versions of the game. Mages, Priests, and Sages can equip it.
Dragon Quest VIII
The rune staff has an attack bonus of +30 and sold for 3,150 Gold Coins. It can be acquired at the Pickham Casino for 3,00 tokens. It also appears in a treasure chest in the same town, but the Ultimate Key is needed. Using it as an item raises the entire party's defense, similar to Kabuff.
Dragon Quest IX
The rune staff has an attack bonus of +45.
Dragon Quest XI
The Rune staff has an attack bonus of +23. It is an award for collecting 20 stamps in the Album de Médailles at L'Académie de Notre Maître des Médailles. Veronica and Rab can equip. Attacking an opponent with the Rune staff gives the wielder an 8% chance to paralyze them.
Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker
The rune staff has an attack bonus of +12.
