Sir Sanguinus is a skeleton knight dressed in red armor astride a horse. He wears a horned helmet and a tattered white cape. He is armed with a crimson steel lance. The horse he rides is brown with a grey mane and is donning copper colored armor.

In ''[[Dragon Quest IX]]'' it is hinted from his speech before the battle that Sir Sanguinus is one of the ten monsters that were created by '''[[Zenus]] remains''' (due to [[Corvus]]' attack) and that he was his blood.
