Snowbird is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series, first appearing in Dragon Quest V. It is a large ice-breathing bird of prey with blue plumage.
Characteristics
The snowbird is a large avian with plumage in various shades of blue and white. The majority of its body is sky blue with a long cerulean tail with a ruff around its neck and crest on top of its head of white feathers, as well as golden beak and talons. In battle, they are capable of breathing out ice cold breath and casting death magic on the party, making them fearsome enemies especially when faced in groups. Much like its fire-breathing counterpart, the snowbird did not make a reappearance in the main series until X two decades later. It has made regular appearances in spinoff games in the series, particularly the Monsters games, where it can form Prism peacock by breeding with a Firebird. The snowbird has also been a member of the Beast family and Nature family depending on the game.

Dragon Quest Rivals
Snowbird appeared as a super rare card exclusive for Demon Swordsmen in the fifth card pack "Heroic Tale of Courage". As a reference to its infamous ability to cast Thwack in its original game, the snowbird will kill a random enemy unit on the field when it is defeated.
Dragon Quest Tact
Snowbird appears as an A-rank member of the Nature family as part of the limited Dragon Quest V event, appearing alongside the three Heavenly Brides on each of their banners. It can learn Sweet Breath, Midheal, and Snowbird Breath and its Leader Perk increases the potency of breath attacks for fellow Natural family members by 10% in a 5x5 square around it, including itself. Snowbird can take part in Kon the Knight's Battle Road as a party member.
