Dragon Quest III

The steel whip has an attack bonus of +40. It is only available in the remake. They can be sold for 2,325 gold and bought for 3,100 gold in Portoga, Tedanki, and Lancel. The Hero, Jesters, Thieves, and Sages can equip them.

Dragon Quest V

The spiked steel whip has an attack bonus of +65. It can be purchased at Lofty Peak for 7,400 gold. Bianca, Nera, Debora, and the Hero's daughter can equip it.

Dragon Quest VI

The spiked steel whip has an attack bonus of +65 and a style bonus of +22.Only Ashlynn can equip them. They can be sold for 5,550 gold and bought for 7,400 gold in Clearvale, Arkbolt, and Mt Snowhere.

Dragon Quest VII

The steel whip has an attack bonus of +65. Maribel and Aishe can equip them. They can be sold for 4,750 gold and bought for 9,500 gold.

Dragon Quest VIII

The spiked steel whip has an attack bonus of +62. They can sold for 4,300 gold and bought for 8,300 gold in Orkutsk. Jessica can equip them. Snapdragons drop them rarely.

Dragon Quest IX

The spiked steel whip has an attack bonus of +54 and has a one star rarity. It can be sold 6600 gold but not bought. It can be upgraded into a gigaspike whip. It can be created using this alchemy recipe: Iron whip + lava lump + iron ore. Its in game description is "A wicked whip woven from steel wires with spiny protrusions." Mages, Minstrels, and Luminaries can equip them.

Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker

The spiked steel whip has an attack bonus of +42. Its in game description is "A woven-steel whip able to strike all foes at once." It can be bought at the Lethal Weapons Armoury for 15,040 gold.

Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 2

The spiked steel whip has an attack bonus of +48. It can be bought for 9,192 gold and sold for 920 gold.
