The Spiked steel whip is a recurring weapon in the Dragon Quest series. It is a mid-ranking weapon and, like all other whips, is designed to attack a group of enemies.

The steel whip has an attack bonus of +40. It is only available in remake versions of the game. They can be sold for 2,325 gold and purchased for 3,100 gold in Portoga, Theddon, and Lanson. The Hero, Gadabouts, Thieves, and Sages can equip them.
Dragon Quest VEdit
The spiked steel whip has an attack bonus of +65. It can be purchased at Lofty Peak for 7,400 gold. Bianca, Nera, Debora, and the Hero's daughter can equip it.
Dragon Quest VIEdit
The spiked steel whip has an attack bonus of +65 and a style bonus of +22. Only Ashlynn can equip it. They can be sold for 5,550 gold and purchased for 7,400 gold in Clearvale, Arkbolt, and Mt Snowhere.
Dragon Quest VIIEdit
The spiked steel whip has an attack bonus of +65 and a style bonus of +22. Maribel and Aishe can equip them. It can be purchased for 9,500 gold at Hubble in the present and Buccanham in the past.
Dragon Quest VIIIEdit
The spiked steel whip has an attack bonus of +62. They can sold for 4,300 gold and purchased for 8,300 gold in Orkutsk. It can be equipped by Jessica, as well as Red in the 3DS version. Snapdragons drop them rarely.
Dragon Quest IXEdit
The spiked steel whip is an upgraded version of the iron whip in this installment and can be upgraded even further with the use of the Krak Pot.
