Spirits are a monster found in the Dragon Quest series. Originally introduced in Dragon Quest II: Luminaries of the Legendary Line, they remained absent from the series until the release of Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies.

Spirits tend to envelope themselves in long blue cloaks. They usually raise their hands as if casting a spell, and are occasionally portrayed as holding a scythe.
