Sweet Breath is a breath attack in the Dragon Quest series. It attempts to put a group of enemies to Sleep. It can also can be used by certain enemies to put one or all members of the party to sleep.

Dragon Quest II: Luminaries of the Legendary Line

Sweet Breath can be used by batmandrills, chewlips, eyelashers, heyedras, merluscs, silvapithecuses, walking corpses, and Hargon and has a chance to put the entire party to sleep.

Dragon Quest III: The Seeds of Salvation

Sweet Breath is an enemy-only skill that can be used by battering rams, canniboxes, firn fiends, funghouls, morphean mushrooms, umbras, and wyrtles.

Dragon Quest IV: Chapters of the Chosen

Sparkie can use Sweet Breath. On the enemy side, it can be used by canniboxes, damselflies, dragooners, hellspawns, night emperors, voodoo gooroos, and Psaro the Manslayer in his third form.

Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride

Sweet Breath is learned by several monster companions such as the funghoul and Small fry.

Dragon Quest VI: Realms of Revelation

Sweet Breath can be learned by advancing to rank 2 of the Monster Master vocation.

It is used by the enemies mad mollusks, kissers, wet kissers, loathsome leeks, and brimstone bulbs.

Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past

Sweet Breath can be learned by advancing to rank 3 as a Monster Masher, rank 5 as a Kingfuchsia, rank 6 as a Lips, and rank 2 as a Mimic.

It can be used by the enemies Wiggles, kissers, smackers, canniboxes, mimics, pandora's boxes, quayhorses, malign vines, and bag o' sweets.

Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King

Sweet Breath can be used by various recruitable monsters such as Nightwing, and Snap Case. On the enemy side, it can be used by canniboxes, funghouls, hellspawns, mimics, morphean mushrooms, night emperors, pandora's boxes, soulspawns, and the Emerald dragon.

  • In the Nintendo 3DS version, the Fun Guys special team is able to use the deathmove Super Sweet Breath which affects all enemies and has a greater chance of putting them to sleep.

Known as SleepAir in this game, it requires the monster to reach level 10 with 70 HP, and 70 INT. It is naturally learned by the AgDevil, DragonKid, FairyDrak, Goategon, ManEater, MadSpirit, Oniono, Toadstool, Tonguella and TreeSlime.

SleepAir now requires 180 Intelligence to learn. It is naturally learned by the Angleron, Devipine, Egdracil, Gulpple, Merman, NoctoKing and TropicGel.

Sweet Breath costs 3 MP and attempts to send all enemies to slumber for 2~5 turns. It is learned via the Blow Hard, Breath Worker, Charmer, Doomsayer, Graveheart, Hargon, Hottie, Respirator, Sleep Counsellor, Stinker, Sweet-Talker, Swirling Dervish, and Tongue Twister talents.

Sweet Breath is a monster-only skill that can be used by canniboxes, silvapithecuses, and pazuzus. It will put any characters in front of the beasts to sleep when it exhales.

Sweet Breath can be learned by grotty hands and umbras, requiring 5 MP to use.

Dragon Quest Tact

Sweet Breath is known naturally by Cannibox, Funghoul, Snowbird, Umbra, and Wyrtle at level 1 and costs 11 MP to use. It attempts to put all enemies in a range of three squares in front of the user to sleep. It can also be taught to any unit by using an ability scroll.
