Can somebody add File:King of Darkness.png to the gallery. I'm not able to due to the page being protected. Crazy456Rhino (talk) 11:36, 22 December 2019 (EST)

Speaking

"Setting the narrative standard for all other Dragon Quest protagonists to follow, the Hero is utterly silent, only communicating in answers of 'Yes' and 'No'. This was a conscious decision made by series creator Yuji Horii to help draw the player into the world of Alefgard on a more personal level, rather than viewing the events of the game as an observer."

The hero of DQ1 actually does speak during the ending. He says (using the original NES translation. GBC, mobile/Switch and the fan SFC translation will vary), he "I cannot," [sic] (that is indeed a comma) and "If ever I am to rule a country, it must be a land that I myself find.". It's enough of an oddity to be mentioned --Agiletek (talk) 01:25, 8 November 2021 (EST)
