The major arcana cards as seen in the Art of Astoltia artbook for DQ X

Tapping into the arcane arts to foresee the future, tarot cards are among the most munique weapons in the series. Originally the calling cards of Meena Mahabala, they have since made a return in the third expansion of the tenth game as well as spin off titles.

Despite being decks of cards, tarot weapons are not exclusively made of paper; most are in fact pressed sheets of metal. The cards are still slightly weaker than the other types of weapons, however, but have incredible potency when used as an item in battle--sometimes even slaying a foe instantly.

Tarot cards are technically not a proper weapon family due to not being equipable armaments, but they are vital tools for the Fortune Teller vocation nontheless. There are 1,716 cards available for players to assemble into six 20-card decks they can carry at the same time, with a full hand being four cards. For a list of tarot cards, see the following page

Meena's appearance brings several new cards to the table, with the Devil, Death, Fool, Moon, and Tower cards being tied to specific skills.
