The turban is a recurring piece of headwear found in the Dragon Quest series. It was originally associated with the merchant vocation as a part of the Middle Eastern theming of the profession, but has since been worn by a variety of characters.

Dragon Quest III: The Seeds of Salvation

The turban first appeared in this game where it was only able to be equipped by Merchants and Gadabouts. It has a defense bonus of +8. It can be purchased in Reeve and Asham, as well as Isis in the NES version for 160 Gold Coins, and sold for 120. The male merchant is drawn wearing one in his official illustrations.

Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past

The turban has a defense bonus of +12 and a style bonus of +2. It can be equipped by The Hero, Kiefer, Ruff, Sir Mervyn, and Aishe. It can be purchased in L'Arca for 410 Gold Coins and sold for 205.

Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King

The turban has a defense bonus of +8. It can be worn by either The Hero or Yangus. It can be purchased in Ascantha and Simpleton for 410 Gold Coins and sold for 205. One can be found in Argonia. Turbans can also be made in the Alchemy Pot.
