August 2025 patch

Here's a gif of my Hero hitting above the 10~16 range Frizz recorded in the guidebooks, data maining efforts, Japanese wikis, etc. I have no idea why the magic damage boost wasn't noted in any of the patch updates, but if I had to guess its a place holder for a larger adjustment to wisdom's influence that will arrive with the update that gives the vocations diagonal movement sprites (Follower of Light (talk) 02:18, 7 April 2026 (UTC))

Fried chicken, lol... thanks for taking time to post! If 10-16 is the "base"/Wisdom-neutral damage range though, wouldn't up to 20 damage be expected from a 30% (not 60%) Wisdom bonus? Or maybe 10-16 isn't the base, or you did more extensive testing on this and other monsters accounting for any Frizz resistance and comparing pre- and post-patch damage ranges using the same character with the same Wisdom values. It just seems odd there's no other info elsewhere on a possible change to the max bonus (at least not yet), but sorry if I'm missing or misunderstanding something! Mostly me being obsessive about DQ mechanics as usual lol.

The base range for Frizz is 8~13 damage and the prior wisdom boost kicks it up to 10~16; I only put down the max ranges for the spells as III HD comes right after classic III on every spell page and thus the base range is visible, but I can change that next time I do a sweep. Ah, OK - I did just find the 8-13 range on a Japanese site as well after my previous post, so I get where you're coming from now (and I assume you did a fair amount of controlled testing before and after the patch as well).
