Volpone

From Dragon Quest Wiki

The Volpone is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series, first appearing in Dragon Quest VIII. Its name means "sly fox" in Italian.

Characteristics[edit]

Volpones are canidae barons with light pink fur that wield rapiers in battle. The foxes wear red and blue striped doublets with ruffs and long yellow capes around their necks, rounded blue hose, and red boots and gloves, as well as a red cavalier hat with a long plume. They have a chance to drop their cloaks and swords after battle. Compared to their lesser cousins, the volpones utilize explosive magic offensively, casting Boom against their enemies and have the ability to heal themselves and their allies almost completely with their Hustle Dance even at the brink of death.
