The zombie mail is a recurring piece of armor in the Dragon Quest franchise. It is a mid-level piece of armor, but it is a cursed item.
Appearances
Dragon Quest IV
The zombie mail has a defence bonus of +39... but it is cursed. It can be equipped by the Hero, Ragnar, and Psaro. Psaro joins the party with it equipped, as he can use cursed equipment without penalty.
Dragon Quest V
The zombie mail has a defence bonus of +38. It can only be equipped by certain monster companions.
Dragon Quest VIII
The zombie mail has a defence bonus of +42... but it is cursed. It can be purified in the alchemy pot into a Platinum mail with the use of Saint's ashes.
