The Fire dragon charm is an accessory that appears exclusively in the Nintendo 3DS version of Dragon Quest VIII.
It is a blood red version of the Dragon's scale that grants the wearer immunity to both Frizz spells and Fire Breath.

The Fire dragon charm has a Defence bonus of +5, makes the wearer immune to Frizz spells and Fire Breath, and can be equipped by all characters. It can be sold for 15,000 gold coins, but it is not recommended to do so as only one can be acquired in the game.
The charm was available to any Japanese players that connected to 7-Eleven's 7SPOT WiFi service from September 1st, 2015 to October 1st, 2015, eventually becoming available to all players from March 30th, 2016 to April 12th, 2016. It was also available to international players for a short time in 2017, but after 2018, all DLC items for the 3DS version became unavailable.
