The '''Balhib''' (Referred to as [[Gold golem]] in the fan translation of the [[Super Nintendo Entertainment System|Super Famicom]] Version) is a recurring monster in the {{DQSeries}}. Introduced in {{DQ5}}, it is a winged, centaur-like monster armed with an axe and brilliant, golden skin. In V, it has a stronger pallete swap [[Bilhaw]].

==Characteristics==
Balhibs are absurd parodies of the classic centaur, having a reptilian lower half that terminates in a long tail and a back covered by two bat wings. They are usually portrayed as powerful monsters, having many strengths granted to them. As indicated by their original names, they are apparently made of gold and will drop a very large sum when defeated.

Introduced as a monster found around the end of the game in places such as Talon Tower and Nadiria. They have a large amount of HP, can deliver strong physical attacks, and cast Kaswoosh on the player's party. The amount of gold they drop is usually worth the risk of fighting them, though.
