The Balhib is a recurring MFamilies in the DQSeries. Introduced in Dragon Quest V, it is a winged, centaur-like monster armed with an axe and brilliant, golden skin.
The balhib (originally Gold Golem / GoldGolem due to display constraints; not to be confused with the golem  palette swap, and Golden Golem in fan-translations) is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series. Introduced in Dragon Quest V, it is a winged, centaur-like monster armed with an axe and brilliant, gold skin.

Characteristics
Characteristics
Balhibs are absurd parodies of the classic centaur, having a reptilian lower half that terminates in a long tail and a back covered by two bat wings. Their upper body is that of a muscular older man with a tall pair of horns, a wild mane of long purple hair, and a bushy mustache and eyebrows. They are usually portrayed as powerful monsters, having many strengths granted to them. As indicated by their original names, they are apparently made of gold and will drop a very large sum when defeated.
Balhibs are centaur-like, having an upper torso emerging from where the neck of a quadrupedal beast would start. They have six limbs: two arms with metal wristbands and four legs armed with talons. They are winged and have a single thick tail, have purple facial hair and a flowing mane, and wield a large axe.

They are usually portrayed as powerful monsters, having many strengths granted to them. As indicated by their original names, they are apparently made of gold and will drop a very large amount of it when defeated.

Introduced as a monster found around the end of the game in places such as Talon Tower and Nadiria. They have a large amount of HP, can deliver strong physical attacks, and cast Kaswoosh on the player's Party 5. The amount of gold they drop is usually worth the risk of fighting them, though.

Appearing as a normal enemy properly in the main series for the first time since V, they are encountered near the end of the main game and can be summoned by Jasper in his Unbound form as a mockery of his former friend. Later in the postgame, they are brainwashed by the Dark One after his revival, but otherwise act the same as in the main game.

Balhib appears as an A-rank MFamilies of the Inorganic family as part of the Dragon Quest V event, appearing alongside Grandmaster Nimzo on his banner. It can participate in Slon the Rook's Battle Road as a party member. The balhib could eventually be scouted from any limited banner, as well.
The Balhib is a Rank A monster in Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 2. One can be synthesized by mixing four monsters: a magmalice, a firn fiend, a golem and a gold golem.
