The '''Grimlin''' (also known as '''Beelzebaby''' in {{DQStars}}) is a recurring monster in the {{DQSeries}}, first introduced in {{DQ2}}.

It is an orange-skinned stronger variant of the [[Gremlin]].

==Characteristics==
Grimlins, like their pink-skinned cousins, are winged {{Devil}}s with the bodies of small children, scaly lizard-like tails, pointy ears, and a pair of pink or magenta horns on their heads. They float about with the pair of small, dark orange wings on their back and their tongues constantly hang out from their mischievous faces. The undersides of their bodies are teal and they have black circles around their red eyes, giving them the appearance of wearing a mask. In battle, they can breathe out fiery breath, cast a variety of different spells, and can call more devilish blighters to assist them. After a long absence from the series, Grimlins made a reappearance like many classic monsters in {{X}} and eventually other spinoff games.

A couple of Grimlins can be fought for the [[5 Sigils#Locations|Water Sigil]] in the jail of [[Moonahan]] if the [[Luminaries]] have the [[Golden Key]] and [[Jailor's Key]].

In the {{NES}}, they respawn and can be battled again if the party leaves the area.  The remakes limit the encounter with them to one battle.

Grimlin appears as an A-rank monster of the [[Demon family]] as part of the limited {{Dragon Quest II}} event, appearing alongside [[Hargon]] on his banner. It can participate in the [[Gremlin]]'s Battle Road as a party member.
