Aubout du Monde (Kievs in the NES version) is a town in Dragon Quest IV. Maya and Meena were born there, as was their father, the famous alchemist who discovered the Secret of Evolution. Maya and Meena's house is there, and their father's secret alchemy laboratory is in its hidden basement.

Localism is apparently very strong in Aubout du Monde, as the inn will refuse to let the party pay for their lodgings if Maya and Meena are with it.

Balzack, if not a native of Aubout du Monde, at least lived there for a time while studying under the twins' father. The same can be said of Oojam.
