The '''sage's robe''' is a recurring robe in the [[Dragon Quest (series)|''Dragon Quest'']] series that first appeared in [[Dragon Quest V]]. It is a highly protective robe for spellcasters that protects the wearer against magical damage.

The sage's robe has seen three radically divergent designs in the series history. Its first depiction was that of a brown robe more akin to a Western fantasy design than anything from [[Akira Toriyama]], which was replaced by a lavender gown with a golden chest piece, purple collar, and purple filigree along the sleeves and ending hem in the [[PlayStation 2]] remake of ''V''. The ninth game's design resembles the official robes of the Catholig pope, dyed blue with golden trim.
